Rio de Janeiro, RJ, 03, (AFI) – Após uma passagem pelo futebol de Portugal, quando defendeu o Famalicão, a zagueira Jana Queiroz acertou o seu retorno ao futebol brasileiro e irá defender o Botafogo. Essa será a primeira experiência de Jana no futebol carioca. A defensora, de 34 anos, celebrou a sua chegada ao Glorioso.

“Chego muito feliz e motivada para esse novo desafio com a camisa do Botafogo. Quando surgiu a oportunidade, eu aceitei de primeira, pois é uma grande equipe, muito tradicional e com uma bela torcida. O projeto do futebol feminino é muito bom, bem definido e isso me chamou a atenção e fez escolher o Botafogo”, disse.

Jana Queiroz tem uma carreira de destaque. A jogadora, natural de Fortaleza, acumula passagens por outras equipes tradicionais do Brasil como Santos, Corinthians, Palmeiras e Grêmio. Além dessas equipes, a cearense também teve boas temporadas com a camisa do Braga, de Portugal. Jana falou sobre as expectativas que ela tem com a camisa do Botafogo.
“O Botafogo tem um grande projeto para essa temporada. A nossa expectativa é de conquistar títulos com o clube. Espero poder ajudar da melhor forma possível, juntamente com as minhas companheiras a conquistar os objetivos da equipe. Como cheguei com a temporada já em andamento, estou aprimorando a forma física e espero poder estrear o mais rápido possível”, concluiu.
O contrato de Jana Queiroz com o Botafogo vai até dezembro de 2023.
